Dr. John Ward Sensei

• Level: Godan (5th dan)
• John has been training in Aikido Yuishinkai since 1990 under Michael Williams Sensei (Chief International Instructor of Aikido Yuishinkai).
• Received his Godan from Maruyama Sensei in 2004.
• John has trained at many dojos throughout Europe and Japan, and recently assisted Maruyama Sensei on his European seminar series.
• John also holds a Nidan (2nd dan) in Iaido, with the All Japan Iaido Federation.

Michael Karkkainen Sensei

• Level: Yondan (4th dan)
• Michael commenced training at Griffith University Aikido Club in 1985, training with Michael Williams Sensei.
• Michael was a founding member of the Byron Bay dojo in 1987.
